Trusted-AI Day: Kick-Off of the european CERTAIN centre for Trusted-AI
The German Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence GmbH (DFKI) together with the DiSerHub and saaris as well as numerous partners from research, business, authorities, associations, politics and society are organising the first “Trusted AI Day” on September 19, 2023, hosted at the Saarland University campus.
The role of the safety of trustworthy artificial intelligence (AI), the technical goals of this technology and its perspectives in the context of autonomous driving will be presented in several lectures.
In addition, the new CERTAIN centre of the DFKI will be presented, which boosts the potential for international cooperation, as is already taking place in Saarland and across borders with Luxembourg and France.
The entire event will take place in the auditorium of Saarland University, but will also be broadcast concurrently online.
When registering, please indicate whether you will be there in person or join in remotely.

About CERTAIN
The goal of the CERTAIN centre is the development of AI technologies and systems with strong guarantees (Trusted AI). For the first time, this allows for a solid foundation for real trust in these new technologies in business, as well as in society, thus enabling a broad and valuable use of AI in all areas of application – even in security-critical scenarios.
In the medium term, the CERTAIN centre is to be developed into a competence centre in Europe for trustworthy artificial intelligence (TAI) that is tightly networked in research, industry and society and that is visible from afar and will play a leading role in the research and development of highly reliable AI technologies and their applications.
Right from the start, the new centre has been tightly networked with numerous partners on the Saarbrücken campus and within the DFKI, while at the same time building up a broad network: in the greater region, nationally and across Europe, in particular through the CLAIRE initiative. Representatives from various partners will use examples to shed light on this tight network.
The new centre was made possible by the generous support of the Saarland as part of the ToCERTAIN project of the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
