Information on Minors

Minor in Informatics (bachelor’s degree program)

  • For the minor, 18 points are required, of which at least 9 must be graded
  • Lectures, exercises, seminars, or practica of a study program can be counted towards the requirement

Selection of other minor subjects

  • In principle, it is possible to select the majority of UdS’ courses of study as a minor subject (for example Japanology, rather than a combination of Japanese language courses)
  • Common minor subjects include mathematics, business administration, systems engineering, computational linguistics, physics or general psychology
  • For these more frequently chosen courses of study, there are guidelines for which courses can or cannot be included in the minor program (with the respective contact person):
    https://www.ps-mint.uni-saarland.de/de/guidelines/cs/minor
  • For a minor that is not in this list, please write to the Study Coordinator (it may be necessary to make arrangements for the selection of courses)
