Information for Applicants to the Bachelor’s Program

For applicants from EU member states

Nationals of an EU member state are in principle considered equal to German applicants, regardless of the EU country in which they obtained their university entrance qualification. Therefore, it is not necessary to attend the Studienkolleg (preparatory course) and pass the entrance exam.

Admissions procedure

For the computer science study program, you must apply through ASSIST.

Application

Along with a copy of your university entrance qualification, you must also enclose a translation, if it is not in English or French. Please ensure that both copies are officially certified! Refer to the ASSIST info page from the Office of Student Affairs for the application deadlines. Please note that when you enter Germany, you will have to bring your original documents with you, as these must be submitted when enrolling at the Office of Student Affairs.

German proficiency

For enrollment, it is required that you have proof of sufficient German language skills and have passed the German language exam for university entrance (DSH).

Enrollment deadlines

For subjects that do not have restricted admissions, enrollment is possible directly after an application has been approved (at the beginning of April for the spring semester and at the beginning of October for the winter semester) in the Office of Student Affairs. Please inquire there for the current registration deadlines.

For applicants from other countries

University entrance qualification and application procedures: The most important prerequisite for admission to study in Germany is that you have obtained approval to study for a university degree in your home country. If, in addition to a secondary school diploma, a higher education entrance examination is required in your home country before you can start your studies there, then this is also required in Germany. In addition, please ensure that you check prior to your application whether your school diploma is recognized as a university entrance qualification in Germany. You can find this important information, and further information about studying in Germany, at the International Office/Office of Student Affairs.
