Internationale Konferenzen: Saarland war im Fokus der theoretischen Informatik

Zwei weltweit renommierte Informatik-Konferenzen sollten im Juli im Saarland stattfinden: das „ACM/IEEE Symposium on Logic in Computer Science” sowie das „International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming“. Aufgrund der Corona-Pandemie wurden die Veranstaltungen jedoch kurzfristig ins Digitale verlegt. Trotzdem haben sich rund 1200 Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler aus aller Welt dazu angemeldet. Ausgerichtet wurden die virtuellen Konferenzen vom Saarland Informatics Campus an der Universität des Saarlandes.

Max Planck researchers publish 17 papers at LICS/ICALP 2020

Researchers from the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems (MPI-SWS), the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (MPI-INF), and the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy (MPI-SP) have coauthored 17 papers at the colocated LICS 2020 and ICALP 2020, two of the top conferences in theoretical computer science. LICS is the premier conference on logic in computer science and ICALP is the flagship conference of the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science.

Internationale Konferenzen: Saarland im Fokus der theoretischen Informatik

Die Themenschwerpunkte beider Konferenzen, die parallel zueinander zwischen dem 8. und 11. Juli stattfanden, lagen im Bereich der theoretischen Informatik. Behandelt wurden Grundsatzfragen zu Logik, Algorithmen, Programmiertheorie, Automatentheorie, aber auch Netzwerkgrundlagen, Computersicherheit und vieles mehr.
